Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Her career path has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European events and clubs, and even to at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing piano and singing in church. She studied at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B styles of Atlanta. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choir leader of the stage production. Sunshine rose to prominence in the performances that took place over four days of 2008. Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
